First things first, please read this.
Okay, now we can continue.
I am unsure of how to write this without creating a cliché ‘About Me’ section. I mean let’s face it… There is nothing more dull than someone stating their name, where they are from, and what they do. I think I can do better than that.
When I was younger, I was a demon. Many would argue that I still am, but I would like to think that I am a little less obvious about it nowadays. Anyway, I say this about my younger self because of a certain experience. At the age of nine, I attempted to frame my Mother. We had the whole family over for a visit and I made it my mission to show them her ‘true’ colours. Her and I were arguing at the top of the stairs and she was yelling at me, telling me to go to my room. In that moment, an opportunity presented itself and I took it. I stepped a little closer to her, pulled her hands towards me and pretended to be pushed. I fell to the bottom of the stairs and cried out bloody murder. Unfortunately for my younger self, my family were not convinced of my Mother’s abusive tendencies and thus I was deemed demonic.
I don’t quite know how this is relevant to a description of myself, but in some abstract way it might be. The story does sum up my drama-queen persona, forward-thinking mind, and creativity. However, like I said, I have progressed since then and instead of framing parents for abuse, I have channelled my ‘creativity’ into other things.
I love to write. That should be kind of obvious considering that this is my blog, but seriously… I love writing. I can use the written word to speak and I can use it to be heard. My experiences can be transcribed, worlds can be created, life’s questions can be discussed and my soul can be explored. For those reasons and many more, the written word will always be my mother tongue.
